Proposed amendment to the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations for the city of Lloydminster
Current status: Closed
This consultation was open from February 10, 2024 to March 26, 2024.
About the consultation
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) was consulting on the proposed amendment to the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) for the city of Lloydminster. The proposed amendment would allow Alberta and Saskatchewan businesses to prepare and trade food into or within the city of Lloydminster as if the city were not split by a provincial border. This would reduce the administrative burden on local businesses and facilitate local trade, economic growth and competitiveness in Lloydminster.
While the focus of the amendment is to address the unique situation of Lloydminster, all jurisdictions remain committed to maintaining food safety for Canadians.
