Origin & Breeding History: 'INLBUVIOKN' originated as an open pollinated cross and was bred and developed by the breeder, Mrs. Birgit Hofmann, an employee of InnovaPlant Zierpflanzen GmbH & Co. KG in Gensingen, Germany. The open pollinated cross occurred between a proprietary female seedling designated 'Io14-5001-16' and pollen from an unknown male parent in Heidesheim, Germany between June to August 2015. From the resulting progeny, 'INLBUVIOKN' was selected in August 2016 for its flower colour, flower size, low fertility/seed set and summer performance. 'INLBUVIOKN' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings in August 2016 in Gensingen, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'INLBUVIOKN' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2022 at BioFlora, Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 5, 2022. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on June 7, 2022. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
