CFIA suspends the operating license of BucksWild Seafood Ltd.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the licence to operate of BucksWild Seafood Ltd., in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia effective January 25, 2021.

The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, as required by the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, SOR/2018-108.The company has failed to correct deficiencies previously identified through CFIA inspections.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

BucksWild Seafood Ltd. will not be able to resume operations until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is fully confident in the facility's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
