General

• Origin & Breeding: found in a field of the variety Butte near Ashton, Idaho (USA). Released by Northwest Potato Sales inc. (Kennewick, Washington) in 1987.
• Year registered in Canada: 1995
• Registration number: 4150
• Maturity: early to mid-season

Botanical Features

• Plants: short, upright, bushy; stems weakly pigmented, thick; wings moderately prominent; nodes not swollen, weakly pigmented.
• Leaves: dark green, open; midribs and petioles weakly pigmented.
  Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; apex acuminate; base lobed and very slightly asymmetrical; weakly wavy margins.
  Primary leaflets: three to four pairs; ovate; apex acuminate; lobed base.
• Flowers: moderately numerous, medium sized white corolla with pink pigment; yellow-orange anthers; buds and peduncles not pigmented.
• Tubers: oblong; russetted brown skin that shows reddish-pink to deep purple coloration under stress conditions; shallow eyes, intermediate in number, evenly distributed; slightly prominent eyebrows; white flesh.
• Sprouts: ovoid, moderately pubescent; base strongly pigmented of blue-violet; apex moderately pigmented.

Agricultural Features

Medium to high yielding variety. Tubers are uniform in size and are highly resistant to internal brown spot and second growth; they have good resistance to net necrosis and hollow heart. Susceptible to drought. Medium dormancy period; good storability; low to medium specific gravity.

Reaction to Diseases

Highly resistant: blackleg, common scab, potato wart.
Moderately resistant: early blight.
Moderately susceptible: leafroll.
Susceptible: late blight, PVX, PVY, verticillium wilt.
