Check the transaction status of CFIA regulated imports and meat inspection activities

Canadian importers of food, plants or animals can now check the transaction status of imports as well as the inspection status of US, Australia and New Zealand meat import shipments.

It is available for all commodities declared via the Integrated Import Declarations (IID).

To begin, all that is needed is a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) 14 digit transaction number.

For "meat only" imports, the Official Meat Inspection Certificate (OMIC) number may be used to verify inspection status of a transaction.

If multiple meat inspection statuses appear when entering a meat transaction number, it means the transaction number has been used previously to import meat products. Please verify the meat inspection status by entering the OMIC number.

Information retention

Inspection status will be retained for 90 days. A search which exceeds a 90 day time frame will display:

"Inspection status not available – Shipment entered Canada more than 90 days ago"
