Scenario A

Shipment was in transit and did not reach country of destination or was off loaded at a port of transit but original seal is intact.

Scenario B

Shipment refused on arrival and remained at point of entry under official control of importing country (customs, agriculture)
Note: Original seal intact.

Scenario C

Shipment was in transit and did not reach country of destination and seal was broken at port of transit by a competent authority or a third party officially recognized by the competent authority and a new official seal has been placed.

Scenario D

Shipment left point of entry and was refused at the receiving establishment. The shipment remained under official control of importing country at all times. If seal change occurred, it was documented as per scenario C above.

CFIA authorization

Product may be returned to Canada under the following conditions

  1. Only intact, sealed, clean, undamaged shipping containers are permitted to be returned to Canada.
  2. Exporter letters for Scenarios A, B, C or D (in English or French).
  3. Foreign government official's declaration for exported Canadian meat products being returned to Canada for Scenarios B C or D (in English or French).
