It originated from an open pollinated cross between 'L4332-1', as the proprietary female parent variety, and an unknown male parent variety in August 2009 in Enkhuizen, Netherlands. The new variety, 'ACBZ0004', was selected on July 5, 2010 in Enkhuizen based on its compact plant growth habit, early and long flowering period, and stable flower colour. Asexual propagation by cuttings of 'ACBZ0004' was first conducted on July 6, 2010 in Enhuizen, Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'ACBZ0004' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2016/2036, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted in 2017 by the Naktuinbouw, in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
