Effective July 11, 2017, the Certificate of Registration of Les Crustacés des Monts Inc. was reinstated and the company was allowed to resume operations.

May 15, 2017, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the registration of Les Crustacés des Monts inc., a shrimp processing company located in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Quebec.

The registration was suspended due to the company's inability to maintain a sufficient Quality Management Program, as required by the Fish Inspection Regulations.

There is no recall associated with this suspension. The company can no longer process fish for interprovincial or international export.

A request for reinstatement can be submitted within 30 days of the suspension. The company will not be able to resume production activities until the CFIA determines that the required corrective measures have been taken.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
