July 18, 2019, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the licence of establishment 9029-2178 Québec inc. (Ferme avicole Yves Labelle et fils), an egg shell grading station located in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, effective July 11, 2019, pursuant to the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.

While the suspension is in effect, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which licence number 7PMLDX4K was issued.

There is no food recall associated with this suspension.

CFIA suspended the licence because the operator did not develop preventive control plans related to product and chemical control, in accordance with the relevant provisions of Part 4 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.

Industry is responsible for the safety and quality of their food products and for ensuring that they comply with Canada's food laws. CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.

The suspension may be lifted if CFIA determines that acceptable corrective actions were taken to address the non-compliance(s). If measures are not taken within 90 days after suspension, CFIA may cancel the licence.
