Effective November 3, 2016, the Certificate of Registration of Establishment 691, Thomas Canning Ltd. has been reinstated.

October 21, 2016, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the registration of Establishment 691, Thomas Canning Ltd., effective October 19, 2016. The company is located in Maidstone, Ontario.

The CFIA has determined that the operator is in violation of the Processed Products Regulations. The operator failed to make corrections to three non-compliances identified during an inspection performed in 2014.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

Establishment 691, Thomas Canning Ltd., will not be allowed to export, trade interprovincially, or apply a Canadian grade mark to products regulated under the Processed Products Regulations until the necessary corrective actions have been implemented and the CFIA has verified that the regulatory requirements can be consistently maintained.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
