Effective November 3, 2016, the establishment was allowed to resume operations.

August 25, 2016, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the Certificate of Registration of Establishment #2393, Medallion Trading PEI Inc., located in Charlottetown, PEI, effective August 23, 2016.

The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, as required by the Fish Inspection Regulations and the company has failed to correct deficiencies previously identified through CFIA inspections.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

Medallion Trading PEI Inc. will not be able to resume operations until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is confident in the facility's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its web site.
