The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the fish import licence of 9148-7900 Québec Inc. effective January 11, 2016. The importing company is located in Montreal, Quebec.

There is no food recall associated with this suspension.

The import licence was suspended because of failure to comply with requirements of the Fish Inspection Regulations. The company failed to maintain fish product distribution records, to notify the CFIA of imports within 48 hours of arrival, and to make the products readily accessible to an inspector.

The company may not import fish products into Canada while its import licence is suspended.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its web site.
