Food safety and emergency response

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) coordinates food emergency response across Canada. Our top priority is to ensure a timely and effective response to food safety emergencies.

The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) require that you notify the CFIA immediately when you suspect that your company has sold, distributed or imported a product that may pose a risk to consumers.
