Specific Nutrient Content Claim Requirements
On December 14, 2016, amendments to nutrition labelling, list of ingredients and food colour requirements of the Food and Drug Regulations came into force. Regulated parties have a five (5) year transition period to meet the new labelling requirements.

Specific requirements for making nutrient content claims exist for many nutrients, as well as for vitamins and minerals. This section discusses those requirements, as outlined in the table following B.01.513, and the sections D.01.004 and D.02.002 of the Food and Drug Regulations.
