Origin & Breeding History: 'VUKOZGemini' originated from a controlled cross that occurred in 2004 in Pruhonice, Czech Republic. The cross was conducted between the female parent variety 'Musca' and the male parent, a proprietary plant designated 99-19-254. From the resulting progeny, 'VUKOZGemini' was selected in 2007 as a single seedling based on its low plant growth habit, flower size, flower colour that changes from white to pink, abundant flowers and re-blooming flowering type. Asexual reproduction of 'VUKOZGemini' was first conducted by softwood cuttings in 2007 in Pruhonice, Czech Republic.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'VUKOZGemini' was conducted outdoors during the spring and summer of 2020 and 2021 at BioFlora, Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 10 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. Plants were grown from 11 cm rooted liners and planted into 8.8 litre containers on August 6, 2019. The plants were overwintered in a polyhouse, moved outdoors to a drip irrigated field area and arranged in rows with 1 metre spacing between plants. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety on May 11, 2021. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
