Summary: The plants of 'Keisurfbripitos' have an upright growth habit with longer shoots than the plants of 'Duesurneon', which have a spreading growth habit. The leaf of 'Keisurfbripitos' is smaller than that of 'Duesurneon'. The sepal of 'Keisurfbripitos' is smaller than the sepal of 'Duesurneon'. The flower of 'Keisurfbripitos' is narrower than that of 'Duesurneon'. The main colour of the inner side of the corolla of 'Keisurfbripitos' is blue pink while it is purple red for 'Duesurneon'. The inner and outer sides of the corolla tube of 'Keisurfbripitos' are white while they are violet for 'Duesurneon'.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Keisurfbripitos' originated from a hybrid cross conducted in September 2005 by the breeder Shunsuke Takeuchi in Katori, Chiba, Japan. It was the result of a cross between the proprietary breeding lines '06-B15' as the female parent and '05M-42'as the male parent. A single plant was selected from the resultant progeny in March 2006 based on its plant growth habit, plant vigour, branching characteristics, long flowering period, flower colour and abundance, and good garden performance. Asexual reproduction of 'Keisurfbripitos' by cuttings was first conducted in March 2006.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Keisurfbripitos' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2014 at BioFlora Inc. at St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on June 18, 2014. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts or parts of plants of each variety on July 21, 2014. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
