Origin & Breeding History: 'Fisorangtan' (breeder designation 'Fit 708') originated from a hybridization conducted in Hillscheid, Germany in 2000. The female parent was variety 'Fisrocky Orange' with pale orange, semi-double flowers and dark green foliage, and the male parent was variety 'Nobila' with orange, semi-double flowers and medium green foliage. The first selection occurred in Galdar, Gran Canaria, Spain in 2001 and in 2002, cuttings from the selected seedling were taken back to Hillscheid for further selection and trial cultivation. 'Fisorangtan' was selected for its deep orange colour on both the upper and lower sides of the petals.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, grant number PEL 1984, purchased from the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany. The trials were conducted in 2005. All colour characteristics were determined using the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart, 2001 edition.
