The plants of Nemesia variety 'Nemhrpur' have an erect to semi-erect growth habit. They are dense and have many branches. The leaves are medium to dark green, ovate in shape and have a serrate/dentate margin. There is a petiole present.

'Nemhrpur' begins flowering early. The inner side of the calyx has absent to very sparse pubescence on the margin only. The corolla spur is the same length to longer than the lower lip of the corolla and slightly curved. The central lobes on the upper lip of the corolla are uniformly coloured with moderate to strong undulation of the margin and very weak reflexing. When fully opened, the central lobes on the upper lip of the corolla are blue pink with violet at the apices and dark violet venation at the base. The lateral lobes on the upper lip of the corolla are blue pink with purple venation at the base and strong reflexing. The lower lip of the corolla is also blue pink with moderate to strong undulation of the margin and moderate reflexing. The corolla palate is yellow with a yellow orange spot and changes to blue violet with a blue pink margin when the corolla has aged. The corolla palate is large.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Nemhrpur' is the result of a cross between the female parent designated 'C225-1' and the male parent designated 'C72-2'. The cross was conducted by the breeder, Har Stemkens, at Syngenta Seeds B.V. in Enkhuizen, the Netherlands in August of 2000. In May of 2001, 'Nemhrpur' was selected based on its early flowering, flower shape, sterility and flower colour.

Tests & Trials: The test and trial for 'Nemhrpur' was conducted in a polyhouse at BioFlora Inc., St. Thomas, Ontario during the spring of 2005. The trial included 15 plants of each variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 11 cm pots on March 12th, 2005. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten measurements.
