Origin & Breeding History: 'Sunparaprero' originated from a cross between the female parent 'M35-4' and the male parent 'M28-3' conducted in February 2002, at Higashiomi, Shiga-ken, Japan. In August 2002, seeds were obtained from the above stated cross and were germinated and grown to maturity. In November 2002, one seedling was selected based on its growth habit, flower size and flower colour. The selected plant was propagated by cutting and grown in pots. A trial was carried out from May to October 2003. The botanical characteristics of that plant were then examined. As a result, it was concluded that this Mandevilla plant was distinguishable from any other varieties and it was named 'Sunparaprero'.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Sunparaprero' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2007/2213, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, Angers, France. The trials were conducted by Naktuinbouw in Wageningen, The Netherlands in 2008. Colour determinations were made using the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
