Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'Jodie' originated from a cross pollination made in November 1999, at De Lier, The Netherlands. The objective of the breeding program was to create new kalanchoe varieties with multi-petalled flowers. The female parent of 'Jodie' was the variety 'Leonardo' and the male parent was the variety 'Pablo'. The variety has been reproduced by terminal vegetative cuttings since 2000.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Jodie' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20052105, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany, in 2006. Colour determinations were made using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart.
