The first selection occurred in Moncarapacho, Portugal, in the spring of 2003. Cuttings from the selected seedling were taken back to Hillscheid, Germany, for further evaluation and trial cultivation in the spring of 2004. The main selection criteria were flower colour, flower size and flower shape.
