In the summer of 2003, one plant was selected for its upright growth habit, good flowering, round shaped panicle, and unique dark-pink mature flower colour.
Tests & Trials: Trials for 'ILVOMindy' were conducted in an outdoor, irrigated, container trial during the summer of 2013 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 10 shrubs each of the candidate and reference variety. All shrubs were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 13 litre pots on July 8, 2012. Trials were arranged outdoors in rows with 1 metre spacing between plants. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on July 11, 2013. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
