In 1994, a single plant was selected, followed by line selection and replicated yield trials. Selection criteria included yield, oil content, resistance to lodging and fusarium resistence.
Tests & Trials: Tests and trials were conducted during the summers of 2006 and 2007 at the Kernen Crop Research Farm, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Trials consisted of two entries in a randomized complete block design with 2 replications. There were 6 rows per plot, row length was 3.66 meters with 30.5 cm between rows (6.69 square meters). The trials were seeded at a rate of 33.6 grams per plot (50kg/ha).
