Origin & Breeding History: 'Incleninro' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder, Silvia Hofmann, an employee of InnovaPlant GmbH. & Co. KG., in July 2010. The cross was made between two proprietary seedlings, a female parent designated 'CL 10 6-1', and a male parent '10-01' in Heidesheim, Germany. From the resulting progeny, 'Incleninro' was selected in April 2011 for its sterility, spineless stems, compact growth habit and large flowers. 'Incleninro' was first asexually propagated by vegetative cuttings in June 2011 in Gensingen, Germany.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Incleninro' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings that were each transplanted into a 15 cm pot on April 9, 2015. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of plants of each variety on May 21, 2015. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
