Summary: 'Pink Yograceland' has a taller plant height than 'Pink Yoblush'. 'Pink Yograceland' has an anemone centered flower type while 'Pink Yoblush' has a single flower type. 'Pink Yograceland' has a larger flower head diameter than 'Pink Yoblush'. The ray florets of 'Pink Yograceland' have a longer corolla tube and are longer in length than the ray florets of 'Pink Yoblush'. 'Pink Yograceland' has a larger disc diameter than 'Pink Yoblush' and has enlarged tubular type disc florets while 'Pink Yoblush' has tubular disc florets.


'Pink Yograceland' is a year round, pinched, disbud pot chrysanthemum variety with an eight week response time. The stem has no anthocyanin colouration. The leaves have an acute to truncate shaped base and the margins of sinus between lateral lobes are diverging.

The flowers are an anemone centered daisy type and are pink in colour. The outer ray florets are broad in width, reflexing along the longitudinal axis and concave in cross section. The tip of the ray floret is mamillate to dentate. The disc florets are yellow green in colour before anther dehiscence and yellow at anther dehiscence. The enlarged tubular disc florets are numerous, massed and clearly visible at all stages of flower head development.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Pink Yograceland' is the product of a mutation induction breeding program, conducted by Wendy R. Bergman of Yoder Brothers Inc. in Fort Meyers, Florida. It originated by irradiating unrooted cuttings of the variety 'Yograceland' by x-ray radiation in October 1998. Following treatment cuttings were rooted and terminal apices were pinched three times to promote lateral branch development. After lateral branches from the third pinch reached sufficient size, terminal cuttings were harvested, planted, and flowered in a controlled environment. 'Pink Yograceland' was discovered and selected by the breeder as a single flowering plant within this population in April 1999. The selection criteria were based on desirable inflorescence form, floret colour, and good post production longevity. Asexual reproduction was initiated in July 1999, by vegetative tip cuttings in a controlled environment in Fort Myers, Florida, USA.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials were conducted at Yoder Canada Ltd. in Leamington, Ontario in the fall of 2004. Trials were performed under greenhouse conditions which approximate those used in commercial greenhouse practice. 40 unrooted cuttings of both the candidate and reference variety were directly stuck into 15 cm pots with 4 cuttings per pot. Plants were spaced 30 cm apart and were pinched once prior to short day treatment. All plants were disbudded. Observations and measurements were taken on 10 plants of each variety and all colour measurements were made using the RHS Colour chart 2001.
