Asexual reproduction of 'SMNTPGF' was first conducted by softwood cutting in 2011 in Grand Haven, Michigan.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'SMNTPGF' was conducted in an outdoor irrigated container trial during the spring of 2022 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 10 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were transplanted into a 3.8 litre pots in the summer of 2021.
