Origin & Breeding History: 'PPS01-180' was derived from a cross made in 1998 of PGS1827/97CGH403 using pedigree selection and inbreeding. 'PPS01-180' was selected in 1999 on the basis of height, vigor, maturity, blackleg resistance, oil content, fatty acid profile, and glucosinolate content. Breeder seed production commenced in 2001.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials were conducted at the Bayer CropScience facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 2003, 2004. Plots consisted of 3 rows 6 meters in length with 50 cm row spacing. There were 2 replications laid out in a RCB design.
