Origin & Breeding History: 'PKM05' originated from a population of Campanula seedlings that resulted from the hybridization between two proprietary PKM hybrid breeding lines. The planned breeding program aimed at creating new Campanula varieties with greater floriferousness, more colourful flowers and a plant growth habit with good, freely branching growth. The cross was made in May of 2013 by a breeder in Sohus, Denmark. The resulting seeds were harvested from the female parent and the resulting progeny were evaluated. The new variety was selected based on plant growth habit and flower colour. In 2014, after vegetative propagation evaluation, the final selection was made based on its upright growth habit and large white coloured, double flowers.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'PKM05' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2015/2170, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2016. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
