Varieties used for comparison: 'HAVPRTW807', 'PKMP06' (White Get Mee) and 'CAM 066604'
Summary: The plants of 'L10018' are dense while those of all three reference varieties are of medium density. The stems of 'L10018' have no pubescence whereas those of both 'PKMP06' and 'CAM 066604' have pubescence present. The upper side of the leaf of 'L10018' has no pubescence whereas that of 'PKMP06' has pubescence present. The corolla lobe of 'L10018' is narrowly elliptic while that of 'HAVPRTW807' is broadly elliptic. The corolla lobe of 'L10018' has strong reflexing while that of both 'HAVPRTW807' and 'CAM 066604' are moderately reflexing.
PLANT: rounded growth habit, dense, very short to short, very narrow to narrow
RHIZOMES: weak vigour
STEM: no pubescence, ribbed in cross-section, light green
LEAF: very short to short, narrow to medium, very small length to width ratio, obtuse tip, cordate base, widest towards base, weakly concave in cross-section, medium depth margin incisions, medium undulation of the margin, upper side is light green, weak rugosity, weak glossiness of upper side, sparse pubescence on upper side
CALYX: no petaloid lobes, lobes at right angles to stem
COROLLA: moderately outwards attitude, campanulate shape, only one whorl, very small to small diameter, very short
COROLLA LOBE: narrow elliptic, short, very narrow, strong reflexing, no twisting, mid-point in cross section is weakly convex, central furrow on inner side is weak, obtuse tip, inner side is white (RHS NN155C) with very weak violet blue flush
COROLLA TUBE: length relative to corolla length is medium, absent or very short to short, in profile sides of tube are parallel sided to slightly diverging, very narrow mouth, outer side is white (RHS NN155C)
Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'L10018' originated from the self pollination of the unnamed proprietary selection 'A.09.09', in Marslev, Denmark in 2010. The resulting seedlings were selected in 2011 based on their compact upright growth habit and distinctive flowers.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'L10018' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2012/0606, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2013 and 2014. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
