Summary: The plants of 'OBF0622' have a spreading growth habit whereas the plants of 'Draper' have an upright growth habit. The colour of the one-year-old shoot on 'OBF0622' is greenish red whereas the colour of the one-year-old shoot on 'Draper' is dark red. 'OBF0622' has a small corolla tube whereas 'Draper' has a medium to large corolla tube. The fruit of 'OBF0622' is firm whereas the fruit of 'Draper' is medium firm.

PLANT: medium to strong vigour, spreading growth habit, fruits on one-year-old shoots only, flowering begins mid-season, fruit ripening begins mid-season
ONE-YEAR-OLD SHOOT: greenish red, short to medium internode length
LEAF: large length to width ratio, ovate shape, dark green on upper side, entire margin
FLOWER BUD: medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, early bud burst
COROLLA: urceolate to campanulate shape
COROLLA TUBE: small with ridges, absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
FRUIT: medium dense cluster, light green unripe fruit, large, elliptic in longitudinal section, medium intensity of bloom, dark blue skin, very firm, medium to high sweetness, medium acidity
Origin & Breeding History: 'OBF0622' (experimental number '06-22') resulted from an open pollinated cross between unnamed highbush blueberry plants in 2007 at the Northern Highbush blueberry breeding program in Silverton, Oregon. The resulting seed of '06-22' was planted in 2008. '06-22' was asexually propagated by softwood cuttings for further testing. Section criteria was for plant vigour, speed of ripening, fresh berry storage life, berry firmness, and berry colour.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'OBF0622' was conducted by Expert Agriculture Team Ltd., in Chilliwack, British Columbia during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons. Each variety consisted of 3 replicates with 3 plants per replicate for a total of 9 plants of each variety. Plants were spaced approximately 76 cm apart within rows and 3 metres between rows. Measurements were taken from 9 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety.
