Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEBF10709' was bred and developed by Guido von Tubeuf in Stuttgart, Germany. It originated from an open pollinated cross conducted during the summer of 2007 between the female parent, a proprietary seedling designated '070032' and an unknown male parent. Seedlings from the cross were selected in May 2008 based on flower colour and quality. These seedlings were further evaluated in greenhouse trials in April 2009 and assessed for flower colour and plant uniformity. 'KLEBF10709' was selected in August 2009.

Tests & Trials: Trials for 'KLEBF10709' were conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2012 at BioFlora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. There were 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. Rooted cuttings were transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 26, 2012. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on June 6, 2012. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) colour Chart.
