- Canada is free from foot-and-mouth disease, vesicular stomatitis, rinderpest, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, lumpy skin disease, peste des petits ruminants, Rift Valley fever, swine vesicular disease, classical swine fever, sheep and goat pox, African swine fever and African horse sickness for six (6) months prior to export. Vaccination against these diseases is prohibited in Canada.
- Hides and skins originate from animals that were born and reared in Canada or legally imported into Canada.

- Either - Fresh and frozen
- Or - Dried
- Or - Dry-salted
- Or - Wet-salted
- The products were obtained, processed, stored and transported in such a manner as to prevent contamination by communicable animal disease pathogens.
