Confirmed cases of bovine spongiform encephalopathy

In Canada, bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is a reportable disease under the Reportable Diseases Regulations for the purpose of Section 2 of the Health of Animals Act, section 5 (1). Accordingly, when BSE is suspected, it must be reported to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
