Claim 1
  1. BMD 110 G
  2. Bacitracin MD
Bacitracin methylenedisalicylate (equivalent to bacitracin) at 110 g/kg

Claim 1

As an aid in treatment of necrotic enteritis associated with Clostridium perfringens susceptible to bacitracin.

Level of medicating ingredient in the complete feed

110 mg/kg (0.011%) of bacitracin (as bacitracin methylenedisalicylate) in the complete feed.

Directions for use in the complete feed

This livestock feed contains a medically important antibiotic. To reduce the development of antimicrobial resistance and maintain effectiveness, use this antibiotic prudently and for the shortest duration required to achieve the desired clinical outcome.

Feed this medicated feed at the first clinical signs of disease. Feed continuously for 7 days.

Additional information (not to appear on feed labels)

For feed manufacturers

Add and thoroughly mix into the ration at the following rate to provide 110 mg/kg (0.011%) bacitracin per metric tonne (1000 kg) of finished (complete) feed:

Warning

  1. No withdrawal period is required when feeding this medicated feed at the recommended level of 110 mg/kg (0.011%) bacitracin in the complete feed.
  2. No withdrawal period is required for eggs obtained from treated laying hens when feeding this medicated feed at the recommended level of 110 mg/kg (0.011%) of bacitracin in the complete feed.
  3. When handling the product, avoid inhalation, oral exposure and direct contact with skin or eyes. (Required on premix and supplement labels only)
  4. Keep out of reach of children. (Required on premix and supplement labels only)

Caution

  1. Do not use in feeds containing pellet binding agents with the exception of Ameri-Bond 2x (calcium lignosulfonate) and Pel-Stik. (Required on premix and supplement labels only)
  2. Due to known presence of bacitracin-resistant Clostridium perfringens in broiler chickens, use of bacitracin premixes should be based on susceptibility testing. If this is not possible, therapy should be based on clinical judgement and local (regional, farm level) information about susceptibility of the target bacteria.

Accepted compatibilities

Bacitracin (from bacitracin methylenedisalicylate) is compatible with the following drugs/drug combinations. In cases where there are differences in withdrawal time for the compatible medicating ingredients, the longer withdrawal time is the one that must be used, and is the only one that is to appear on the label of the finished feed.
