June 2, 2016, Ottawa: On May 10, 2016, at the New Brunswick Provincial Court in Saint John, Chad Michael Brown pleaded guilty to contravening a provision of the Fish Inspection Act and was ordered to pay a $700 fine.
Section 4(2) of the Fish Inspection Act indicates, in part, that no person shall obstruct, impede or refuse to admit an inspector or other person acting in the execution of this Part or any regulation.
The CFIA's investigation determined that, between August 17, 2015, and August 20, 2015, Mr. Brown obstructed the work of an inspector and failed to provide the inspector with information required to be produced in accordance with the Fish Inspection Act.
