Effective March 27, 2018, the registration of Point Queen Fisheries Ltd. was reinstated and the company was allowed to resume operations under ongoing inspection by the CFIA.

March 20, 2018, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the federal registration of Establishment 3287, Point Queen Fisheries Ltd., in L'Etete, New Brunswick, effective March 20, 2018.

The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, which is a violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

Point Queen Fisheries Ltd. will not be able to resume operations until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is fully confident in the facility's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled, or refused for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. See a complete list of suspensions and cancellations.
