November 15, 2017, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operating licence of Establishment 275, Blue Goose Pure Foods Inc., a meat processing establishment located in Burlington, Ontario, effective November 10, 2017.

The operating licence was suspended due to the company’s failure to meet the regulatory requirements related to building maintenance, as required by the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

The operator will not be able to resume production activities until the CFIA determines that the required corrective measures have been taken.

An appeal can be made by the company within 60 days of suspension of the operating licence. This request must be accompanied by an acceptable, written Corrective Action Plan (CAR).

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
