Explanation of data

The specific sections of the applicable legislation that were enforced by the CFIA are identified in the "Authority" column.

Under the Fish Inspection Regulations, the CFIA has the authority to "refuse to renew" a fish establishment's or fish importer's licence at the time of renewal if the establishment has failed to comply with the legislative requirements.

A licence that was cancelled or suspended can be reinstated under certain conditions, for example, if the establishment becomes compliant again. The "Date of Reinstatement" column shows the date of reinstatement of the licence.

The asterisk (*) beside the name of a regulated party indicates that the licence of that fish establishment /importer was suspended or cancelled due to fish net weight violation.

A row containing no data indicates that no enforcement action was necessary.
